Single-barbed thermoplastic fittings features:
• The single-barbed design allows the tubing to relax behind the barb. The barb bites into the hose, assuring a proper sealing (see here below figure). Multiple barbs typically placed in close succession (like a Christmas tree) prevent the tubing from relaxing and the barb's performance is compromised.
• The conical surface on the fitting is smooth and glass-like, for excellent sealing.
• Anti-Rotation Devices: are small oval-shaped raised areas which inhibit hose rotation on the barb, that often is responsible for many of the leaks occurring with other fittings.
• Barb edge and all threads are molded in precision-ground cavities, resulting in perfectly matched threads also at the parting line.
• To improve sealing performance, add a clamp as herebelow shown
